Worley and Barrett examined the response to selection in flower
size and flower number in Pickerelweed (Eichhornia paniculata).
They had four selection lines and three replicates per line. C is a
control line with no selection, N+ is selecting for genotype with
the highest 5ower number, S+ is selecting for genotypes with the
largest 5ower size, and S- is selecting for genotypes with the
lowest 5ower size. After two generations of selection they had the
following results. Values are means +/- one standard error of the
mean.

Question: Worley and Barrett examined the response to selection in flowersize and flower number in Pickere...

a. What is the evidence for correlated selection?
b. Is there evidence that correlated selection acts in the same
manner on lines selected for larger or smaller 5owers? Explain your
answer.
