A male patient, 56 years old was admitted to the hospitalfollowing complaints of severe gastrointestinal problems. Occultblood and CEA marker results both came back as positive. Thedoctors attending the patient needed to perform surgery (intestinalresection). Blood typing and crossmatch were required.
