A patient is brought into the emergency department after being found at the bottom of a staircase, face down. He is not responsive to verbal or tactile stimuli, however there is a pulse. What assessments and test(s) would be done to decide as to a diagnosis? What are the potential issues for this patient besides a traumatic brain injury, would one consider a spinal cord injury? or any other potential problems?
