Procedure: Relocation of pacemaker site with re-implantation ofthe pulse generator into the pectoralis muscle

Procedure Description:
The patient was brought to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab inthe fasting state. She was prepped and draped for a leftinfraclavicular approach. Lidocaine anesthesia was administered. Askin incision was performed. Using meticulous dissection, multipleindwelling leads were dissected away and the pulse generator wasextracted. This was an Intermedia Nova, model 282-04, serial#355543, bipolar ventricular pacer. Deep dissection was performedand the pulse generator was placed in a new pocket in thepectoralis muscle below the current pocket. The lead and pacemakerwere carefully sutured down. Interrupted 3-0 Dexon was utilized toclose the area in order to achieve maximum tissue coverage of themultiple leads. There were no complications. The patient left thelab in good condition.
