Orders include: NG tube to Low intermittent suction, Strict Intake and Output, Diet: NPO except for 30 ml of ice chips every 4 hours. Identify 2 priority nursing assessments r/t placement of the NG tube or maintenance of it. 1 2-Your patient is in the hospital after suffering a stroke and one of their deficits include dsyphagia. This patient needs a Nasogastric tube placed for intermittent enteral feedings. Identify 2 potential patient problems r/t safety that you need to consider prior to initiating feedings through it.
