A nurse is instructing a patient on her newly prescribed insulins. Which statement, if made by the patient, indicates an understanding of the teaching? The insulin glargine (Lantus) and regular insulin injections should be given two hours apart. Insulin glargine (Lantus) and regular insulin are the same drug and I can decide which one to inject at each meal. I can mix my long acting Lantus insulin and my short-acting and regular insulin in the same syringe to limit the number of injections each day. I can administer insulin glargine (Lantus) and regular insulin at the same time, but at different injection sites.
