A study was conducted in Arizona to see what some of the riskfactors for homelessness were, given that people were poor, and didnot have any serious mental illness. Only poor people withoutserious mental illnesses were included in the study. In this study,300 people who had recently become homeless (150 men and 150 women)were compared to 300 other poor people of the same sex and age whoalso lived in Arizona, but had never been homeless. A great deal ofinformation on potential risk factors was collected from the twogroups.
