As far as personal preparedness goes, I believe my family does apretty good job of preparing for emergencies and disasters. We areprepared in multiple ways such as keeping flashlights and candlesaround the house in case of any power outages, we have a fire alarmin our house in case of fires, we keep a stockpile of supplies suchas canned good and waters, and we have first aid kits handy.Growing up I am glad my family taught me to be prepared so that Iwould know what to do without hesitation in case of emergencies. Ithink as a Community Health Nurse it is important to know how toteach the public of ways to be prepares during emergencysituations.
