Assignment #2: Quality Assurance Manual

Objective:

To develop a “mini” Quality Assurance Manual for a DietaryDepartment in a Long Term Care Facility.

Project:

  1. Develop a Mission Statement for your manual specific to aDietary Department in LTC.

  1. Choose one standard/legislation from each of the followingRegulatory Bodies (total of 3 ):
    • Ministry of Labour
    • Public Health
    • Ministry of Health and Long Term Care

ENSURE the standards/legislationchosen is nutrition or dietary department focused. For example thestandard/legislation could reflect one of the followingfocuses:

  • menu planning
  • safe food/food production
  • nutritional care
  • kitchen environment

     

  1. Develop a policy and procedure foreach of the 3 standards.

  1. Develop an audit tool reflective of your policy/standard. Oneaudit for each of the policies. Ensure audit tool is reflective ofindustry best practices.
  1. Correlate into a professionally formatted QA manual.
