The COVID 19 Pandemic has created a tremendous disruption to theUS on many levels. The healthcare sector has similarly beendisrupted, particularly at the physician group practice level.While hospitals received substantial support to weather the COVIDdisruptions, physician groups had far less support made available.With the patient volumes dropping because people were hesitant togo to physician’s office due to concern over spread of the virus,many physician practices saw their cash flows slashed. Utilizingconcepts learned in the class, discuss the pluses and minuses ofthe different general payment models (fee for service, capitation,ect.) for physicians during COVID.
