In Early Learning, the environment is often referrod to as the third teacher. How we set up our learning and play areas has an immediate impact on the behaviour of both staff and children. In this assignment, students will reflect on their learning spaces in their classroom. Students will describe behavior concerns that may be caused by environmental factors. What are the environmental factors impacting the behavior of the children? This is all theory as we do not have access to our child care centres. Upon reflection of the learning space, students will then report on what changes they feel theoretically could be made and why. Changes should consider class learning and discussions regarding modifying the environment. Reflection, Analysis and Plans: • Students will write a detailed 2-page paper on how the environment set up in the classroom may be the cause of challenging behaviour and what changes could be made to create an environment that supports positive interactions Explain in detail why the possible changes could impact the behaviour of the children in the room Students must demonstrate knowledge of class learning and environmental awareness discussions
