In Flylab, Drosophila females with wild colored bodies (+) and
wild-type wings (+) were crossed with Drosophila males with pink
bodies (P) and lumpy wings ( LU). All of the F1 generation had
lumpy wings (LU). A cross between an F1 female and an F1 male
produced the following F2 progeny: 3733 female lumpy wings (LU),
1861 male lumpy wings (LU), 1859 male pink bodies and lumpy wings
(P and LU), 1259 female wild bodies and wings (+), 610 male pink
bodies (P) and 587 male wild bodies and wings (+). Based on the
observed results of the F2 generation, formulate a hypothesis
regarding the mode of inheritance of the phenotypes. Explain your
answer. (you need to perform a chi-square for this)
