In guinea pigs , short hair is dominat to long hair , and the
heterozygous condition for yellow coat and white coat gives cream
coat . A true -breeding short hair /yellow coat is bred to a true
-breeding long hair / white coat to give F1 short hair /cream coat
offspring .
A- What are the genotypes of the parents and F1 ? Be sure to
assign allele symbols which accurately reflect the inheritance
pattern of the two genes ?
B- The F1 offspring are back – crossed to long hair /white coat
parents ( they do not seem to care ). What are the expected
phenotyperatios of the offspring ? For full credit ,you must
diagram your cross using the fork – line method .
