In the Oregon rationing system, the commission attempted torank-order over 700 differing health care services on the basis ofperception of value, effectiveness, and cost. Rank-order thefollowing 20 services using these criteria. First, rank-order thelist individually; then rank-order them as a group. Because some ofthe services may be of equal value to you, give them the sameranking (e.g., it will be possible to have more than one service infirst or second place).
Once we have rank-ordered the list, we can often get a betterdiscrimination between items by giving our choices a weight factor. In the weight value box, place VI (very important), I (important),or NI (not important).
