Mr T is 80 years old man with diabetes mellitus type 2 andhypertension. He comes into the clinic for a wound on his rightfoot that has not been healing, he injured his foot when doing homerepairs. He is in otherwise good health and sedentary when home.The wound is oozing, swollen, tender and warm to touch. He isrunning a fever of 104F and tells you his foot has been increasingin pain. He is unable to bear weight on his foot and when he sitsit throne and aches. The wound measures 5cm x 4cm and there is amoderate amount of purulent exudate in the wound. He is ent to haveit. Evaluate and treated at an outpatient care center.
