Ovarian Mass Case Studies 1. A 25-year-old patient is seen for a pelvic ultrasound scan for left adnexal pain of 2 months. Sonographic examination of the left adnexa reveals a predominantly cystic mass that measures 2 cm in its largest dimension. The walls of the mass are thin and smooth. The mass appears to be pedunculated from the left ovary, but gentle pressure with a transvaginal transducer shows that the mass is actually separate from the ovary. A small multilocular cystic structure is observed within the larger cyst (Figure 1). What is the most likely diagnosis?
