Part 2: Short answer questions You are required to answer the following questions to demonstrate your skills and knowledge in fulfilling your legal and ethical responsibilities whilst undertaking work activities on work placement. Please ensure you take note of the word length requirement where indicated. In accordance with an appropriate role for a student on work placement, you are expected to follow guidance from colleagues and your workplace supervisors in regards to accessing any workplace documents or technology to complete this part of the assessment. Part 2: Short answer questions Part 2 will be completed within your work placement hours and will not be observed by the assessor. To complete Part 2, you should allow up to 3 hours. Part 2a: Identify, meet and respond to legal and ethical requirements 1. If you overheard or observed a colleague speaking to another worker in a belittling manner while on work placement, how would you respond? What exactly would you do and say, and to whom? Your answer must be between 60 words in length. 2. If you overheard or observed your colleagues having a conversation about their own personal issues while assisting a client, how would you respond? What exactly would you do and say, and to whom? Your answer must be between 60 – 120 words in length. 3. If a colleague told you that a client just gave them $50 as a gift for “being my favourite carer”, how would you respond? What exactly would you do and say, and to whom? If you experienced harrassment or abuse from another staff member while on work placement, how would you respond? What exactly would you do and say, and to whom? Your answer must be between 60 words in length. 6. While on work placement you may have encountered clients and colleagues with different religious beliefs, attitudes and values to your own. Describe a situation where this happened and explain how you resolved this problem and responded in a non- judgemental way. (If this did not happen, explain what you would have done had this situation occurred.) Your answer must be between 50 words in length. 7. Refer to your job description and briefly outline your work role boundaries. Identify at least three key things you are responsible for doing, and at least two things you are not permitted to do because they are beyond the scope of your role. Your answer must be between 50 – 150 words in length. 8. Describe three different situations in which you completed your work activities in accordance with legal and ethical requirements relevant to your role.
