Patient is a 66-year-old female who has no history of respiratory disease, presents to the primary care clinic with a suspected diagnosis of pneumonia. She was stuporous and cyanotic upon her arrival. Initial vital signs obtained 90/68, pulse 134, respiratory rate 38, temperature 101.6 degrees Fahrenheit by temporal scan, oxygen saturation of 73% on room air. Patient complains of a productive cough with blood tinged sputum. Current medication list includes metoprolol, Protonix, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide. Provider orders: -Arterial blood gas NOW -CBC with differential -Basic metabolic panel -Chest x-ray -sputum culture -Albuterol 2.5 mg plus ipratropium 250 mcg nebulizer treatment STAT. -ceftriaxone sodium (Rocephin) 2 gm IM now. -Begin prednisone 20 mg po QD for 7 days nunction
