ROTATION II Exercise 5: Strength and Strength Ratios: Using a Hand-Held Dynamometer (HHD), position and test Male and Female subject for strength on their dominant leg as illustrated below. Testing Knee Extensors: Subject seated with knee in 10 deg flexion (use lap belt strap over upper thigh to isolate). Break to 45 deg flexion by applying eccentric overload with HHD at mid-malleolar line. Texting Hip Extensors: Subject standing pike at the waist, chest prone over Tx table, supporting weight on untested leg. Tested leg is positioned in full hip and knee extension. ‘Break to 45 deg hip flexion by applying eccentric overload with HHD midway between bottom of the foot and popliteal fossa. Collect 3 trials in each position performing a “break” test, average the trial scores, normalize strength score (AVG/BW), then calculate HK strength ratio from normalized scores (I NORM/K NORM: MALE Hip Extensor Strength Trial T 446 Trial II 46.1 Trial III – 45.9 AVG: 45.53 NORM: nashinda Focus Testing Hip Extensors: Subject standing pike at the waist, chest prone over Tx table, supporting weight on untested leg.
