The covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on multipleareas around the world. From economic vulnerability to increasedviolence worldwide, the effects of this virus has spread at asteeply increasing rate. For developing countries, this has had alarge impact on their labor markets with unemployment ratesskyrocketing. For women in developing countries this has especiallyimpacted their lives since they currently make up about 50% of theworkforce assisting in trade and tourism around the world. Due tothe pandemic, it has been found that women are now more than everdealing with at home violence and domestic abuse due to theincrease in lockdowns, quarantines, and isolations. These amongmany other problems are why I think it is important for us toassist in developing vaccines for our country as well as many otherdeveloping countries. From what we have learned in nursing, I thinkthe more we help to vaccinate the world, the quicker herd immunityand cross immunity will be created to help counteract the covid-19virus. By doing this, hopefully we can turn around the effects ofthis pandemic and get our lives back to normal. Hopefully then wecan again walk the streets of our communities without masks andfocus on fixing our economy.
